Experience the life of a Worker on Mechanical Turk

I worked on Amazon Mechanic Turk Sandbox as a worker. It was my first experience and was great. It was an interesting way to work and earn money.

What do you like?

1. It is a very popular platform.
2. The tasks are easy, well organized and explained.
3. There are a lot of hits for everyone.
4. The worker dashboard is user-friendly and easy to use.
5. The amount of money we received was well enough according to the tasks were done.

What do you dislike?

1. My Mechanical Turk request was rejected so I had to switch to sandbox.
2. The filtration criteria of tasks are not good. There can be many filters based criteria like Date, Name of topic, Name of Requester, Money(Range wise).
3. There is no way to contact to the requester for help or no way to comment on the hit.

What can be done to improve it?

1. Registration System should be eased up.
2. Upgrade the design layout for better performance.

What can be done to improve it?

1. Devise a way so that the employees check and rate the work as soon as possible.

Readings

A> MobileWorks

What do you like about it?

1. It is a very great way of connecting people to earn money and show their talent in different fields.
2. The android interface used is very easy to operate and understand.
3. The application ensures "no compromise" in the work as the task copy is sent to both the persons.
4. The application is light and is supported in low-end mobile phones.
5. The application supports work for almost all major countries.

What do you think to improve the system?

1. The application must be built to support many different languages for the ease of people.

B> Daemo

What do you like about it?

1. Daemo is a great application for supporting crowd-sourcing. It has the capability to challenge many ongoing popular platforms like MTurk, Upwork, Microworks, etc.
2. The application supports equality in the role of workers, requestors and researchers.
3. The registration process is easy.
4. The platform supports interaction between the worker and requestor.
5. The application also has a feedback feature to rank the workers and the requestors on the basis of their work.

What can be done to improve the system?

1. The new workers can face problems getting tasks because of their low rating in the starting.
2. A partial pay system can be made for the workers whose works were a little off just like upwork.

C> Flash Teams

What do you like about it?

1. Flash teams is a way to pick up the most relevant worker from the crowd for a job.
2. Flash teams believe in 100% satisfaction with the work.
3. Believes in accomplishing difficult tasks by dividing the into modules and the accomplishing them one by one.

What can be done to improve the system?

1. Flash teams is limited to napkin sketch design teams. That is why the other teams are not tested.
2. There may be coordination conflicts between the teams. A conflict resolving cell must be designed for the smooth workflow.
3. The best teams must be shown on the front to motivate others.
